The community is invited to the Burnie Town Hall for the opportunity to hear concerns from independent community leaders about energy infrastructure proposed for northwest Tasmania. Each speaker will deliver key messages relating to the potential impacts that large scale wind and transmission projects could have on the region.
The conversation will focus on Marinus Link (a second interconnector across Bass Strait between Tasmania and Victoria); Renewable Energy Zones proposed inland of Burnie and in Bass Strait; increases in Transmission line infrastructure across Braddon; additional wind farms proposed across northern and western Tasmania; plus, challenges facing the community, the economy, the environment, and local culture that would occur if these projects went ahead.
